The clearer the expectations, the likelier the success
Payment schedule:
- 25% retainer is required with the contract signatures to reserve your date and guarantee your price
- 50% retainer is due 3 calendar months prior to your wedding date
- Balance is due on your wedding date
- Dates and prices only guaranteed upon signing a contract
- All retainers are non-refundable
- Cheques or cash are the only forms of payment accepted
- Any items purchased separately from your initial contract, must be paid in full with the order. Prices in effect at ordering time are used
- NSF cheques carry a $75 fee (further payments certified cheque only)
- If applicable: you're responsible for arranging and paying for any permits or special permissions for locations requiring them
- If applicable: admissions, parking, long distance calls, parcel deliveries, registered mail, travel fee, consultation fees, etc. are extra charges payable prior to image delivery
- All payments need to clear the banking system before delivery date
- If applicable: paying & picking-up simultaneously requires a certified cheque or cash payment. No exceptions!
Our working conditions:
- My assistant and I need to eat in oder to keep our energy up, therefore, if you're hiring us beyond 6 hours AND beyond 19:00, your option of providing us with a meal at the reception OR my assistant and I will need to use up to 60mins of your coverage time, to go out to eat
- The hourly fee is continuous on the wedding day, is rounded to whole hours (no fractions)
- The minimum hours agreed to in the contract cannot be reduced, however, by mutual consent, coverage may be extended at the overtime rate specified in your contract (this may also trigger the meal requirement)
- The photographer's coverage fee includes the actual coverage time, time for preparation, as deemed necessary by the photographer, time for processing captured/ordered images. Time for our first appointment as well as subsequent appointments for dropping off payment/picking up goods, which are expected to be brief. Any additional time spent outside of these parameters, whether planned or impromptu, is not included and is billable separately as a consultation fee
- Because email correspondence is the most time efficient as well as the most accurate method for tracking requests, changes, etc, it's our standard method of communication
- NO travel fees for shooting within Ottawa, Orleans, Nepean, Kanata, Manotick, Aylmer, Hull. Locations situated beyond these boundaries are subject to a travel fee.
- You can select any number of locations
- Unless discussed and agreed to in our contract, NO OTHER PHOTOGRAPHER (S) / VIDEOGRAPHER (S) WILL BE PERMITTED within the ceremony area during the proceedings. This will require that your officiant express these conditions (along with any other announcements he/she might have) prior to starting the ceremony
- To avoid delivery charges, all orders must to be picked-up at the photographer's home
- Applicable taxes (PST & GST) are NOT included on ANY pricing advertised on this ENTIRE website
Our change of plan policy:
Changing the coverage window (start and stop times) is free and subject to:
- Availability of the photographer
- Triggering or canceling the meal requirement as per the contract.
Changing or adding shoot locations is free and subject to:
- Triggering or canceling the travel fee as per the contract.
Changing your wedding date is subject to:
- Availability of the photographer
- Advance notice of 6 or more calendar months from your old date
- Compensation fee of $500
In the unlikely event of a serious illness/death preventing the photographer from carrying out his responsibilities, (I've never missed a commitment in 30 years) every attempt will be made by us to find a replacement photographer for you at no additional cost to either party but, if such a replacement cannot be found or agreed to, a full refund will be made to you (except for previous date change fees already collected and/or work already performed, ie engagement portrait) and the contract terminated without prejudice.
Terms of your Copyright License 
After payment, the bride and groom are entitled to unlimited reproduction rights of my images for personal use only. The photographer retains the full copyrights to his work indefinitely and at his prerogative, will be permitted to use, reproduce, expose and publish his work for private and/or commercial reasons at his cost and without any compensation to anyone shown on the images. All guests and participants present at your wedding, regardless of age, are assumed to be agreeable to the same conditions unless the bride and/or groom warn the photographer in writing, of any exceptions and in advance of the event. Any publication of the images by the bride and groom requires express written permission, the photographer's full name, web address and phone contact predominantly displayed with each image. Any commercial use of my images is strictly forbidden! By giving any third party access to my copyrighted images, authorized or otherwise, both bride and groom assume full responsibility should those images subsequently be used in any way that violates our agreement.
